This is the replacement cost on a 3mm basket per square meter, to replace the front gabion panel for a thicker 4mm wire mesh. This can only be done on one face. 4mm is more rigid reducing the risk of bulging. As its only one face its a much chepaer solution than having all the gabion in the 4mm architectural spec. An excellent product. Having never used gabions before, I was really impressed by the quality of the product, the speed with which they could be installed and the appearance of the completed structure.
Upgrading the front face of the gabion to 4mm was definitely a worthwhile investment as it made it easier to maintain a flush face and avoid bulging.
Wanted a slightly stronger face so the 4mm was perfect!
