I have brought many cages for a garden project to retain soil from a very large sloping garden and I have found working with this size cage a treat. The thickness is just right and it's strong and sturdy. The cages are quiet versatile and I have actually made a smaller cages (1m H x 50cm W) that sits in the middle as a planter. If you haven't worked with these cages before, I recommend that you buy a good pair of bolt cutters, Pliers (I use both comb and long nose pliers) and a good pair of gloves. The cages that I ordered came with a bundle of wire and I used that to wire the cages together (I use a pole about 1cm in thickness to curl the wire on) and support the inner cages to stop the rocks from bowing out. You can buy Helicoil, though I felt confident to use the method I was using as I was being creative with the cages. I would certainly buy this cage again if needed and certainly recommend.

Good sturdy gabion which came with free lacing wire. Measures exactly 1m x 1m x 1m, unlike some others. All carefully shrink wrapped onto pallet with other items ordered. Prompt service plus local haulier rang to arrange delivery to suit me. Very helpful lady on the phone when I rang with a query, plus useful video to show how to use them.
